Luxor Before Sunrise
Hot Air Balloon Ride
Experience Overview
Rise Before the Sun: Luxor from a Bird’s-Eye View
Begin your morning above Luxor as the first light spreads across the Nile Valley. From a hot air balloon, take in the contrast between the green farmland, winding river, desert roads, rugged Theban hills, and the ancient monuments scattered across the West Bank.
Depending on the flight path and weather conditions, you may see landmarks such as the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the wider landscape surrounding the Valley of the Kings. Watch the sunrise transform the landscape from soft morning twilight into warm golden light, revealing a view of Luxor that is difficult to appreciate from the ground.
It is an early start, but one that offers a memorable new perspective on the ancient city.

Flight Preparation & Takeoff At the launch area, watch the crew prepare and inflate the balloon. After the pilot’s safety briefing, board the basket and prepare for takeoff as the morning sky begins to brighten.
Sunrise Awakening: Luxor from the Sky Rise above the West Bank and watch the first light of day spread across the Nile Valley. From your bird’s-eye viewpoint, the landscape may reveal green fields beside the river, rural villages, desert tracks, rugged hills, and archaeological sites across ancient Thebes. Depending on the flight path and visibility, you may see the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the broader area surrounding the Valley of the Kings. As sunrise unfolds, the changing light brings out the contrast between the fertile river landscape and the surrounding desert.
